The Jay Uiberall Foundation honors the legacy of Memphis restaurateur and visionary, Jay Uiberall. Through support and partnership with several local industry and youth organizations, JUF supports causes near and dear to Jay’s heart, such as helping children, promoting Memphis and the downtown area, offering educational scholarships, and encouraging the values of mentoring and hard work.

Jay was a leader in the Beale Street business community and co-owner of Automatic Slim’s, Alfred’s On Beale, Dyer’s, Ubee’s, and Catering for U.

In the fall each year, JUF hosts the Play for Jay Golf Classic—our largest fundraiser of the year. Teams of four enjoy a day on the links at Mirimichi Golf Course, lunch on the patio, putting contest, and a swag bag of thank-you gifts for being a part of our tournament, which raises more than $37K annually. Set for Friday, September 6, 2019, Play for Jay is one round you don’t want to miss.

JUF raises money to support a number of nonprofit organizations in Memphis that are committed to improving the lives of those less fortunate in our community — particularly young people. As Michael Uiberall, Jay's father, states, "JUF looks for holes in society where a program could help deserving kids and young people better themselves. We look for programs that don't have easy access to funds but could have a true impact in the Memphis community."
